  What Services do we provide?

We teach you to paint in oils and acrylics in the styles of Bob Ross and Donna Dewberry. There is no requirement to be artistically gifted. These techniques are designed for those people who have always wanted to paint, but felt they did not have the skills. We can teach anyone to use these techniques to create beautiful artwork with a little effort and build confidence that will make painting exciting and enjoyable. We do free demonstrations to show how quickly and easily a painting can be produced. Our goal is to attract students interested in learning to paint while providing an attractive draw to any venue.

We welcome groups such as spouses of business people in the Asheville metropolitan area for conferences, church groups, clubs, and any other group interested in awakening the artist within. We would host classes at RV parks, churches, recreation facilities, or virtually any indoor venue that can handle up to 10 people. We are available to teach any weekday, weekend, or evening, keeping in mind classes last from 3-5 hours depending on size.

 Bob Ross wet-on-wet oil painting
Bob Ross techniques involve at most 13 different colored oil pigments and only a few different brushes and a palette knife, each designed by Bob to make it easy to apply the paints in order to achieve the desired effect. One of his main tools is a 2-inch paint brush that reminds one of a house painting brush. You will be amazed at how this brush can create the impression of detail in a painting. You will learn to paint mountains and rocks, lakes, ponds, waterfalls, streams, skies with and without clouds, and trees of all types. By combining each feature in different ways with other features you can create a nearly infinite number of unique paintings. We will use many of the 400+ paintings that Bob painted during the years he was teaching the world to paint on Public Television.

Donna Dewberry One Stroke acrylic painting
Donna Dewberry techniques involve the use of acrylic paints and the double loading of the brush so that in a single stroke you can lay down shadows and highlights or two colors simultaneously to create very realistic looking flowers, landscapes and Folk Art. This is also a technique that is designed to inspire people who never thought they could paint to pick up a brush and give it a try. This technique can be used on virtually any surface to create incredible art.
